The Holy City ～聖城～

沒有任何一首詩歌，將啟示錄中新天新地華麗榮美的景象，描寫的比＜聖城＞更加淋漓盡致，憾動人心！由史蒂芬‧亞當斯(Stephen Adams)作曲，弗烈德‧衛瑟理(Frederic Edward Witherly)作詞，1892年首於英國問世。亞當斯與衛瑟理合作多首著名詩歌。衛瑟理是活躍於19世紀末與20世紀初知名的作詞家，作品包括<丹尼男孩>，<倫敦鐵橋>等。我多年前首次在屏東師範學院斜對面的國語禮拜堂聽該堂詩班演唱時，尚無法瑆解，也沒特殊感覺。如今年紀增長，對信仰的認識增深，靈命較以往成熟，再度聆賞此曲時即大為激賞，感動的程度難以言喻！全曲近五分鐘，屬大型詩歌，精華樂段莫過於第三段，副歌重複時達到全曲最高潮，威震八方，氣勢恢宏磅礡，上達天聽，歸與神何等豐盛的榮耀！

返台過暑假期間，終於有機會一流鋼琴家合作此曲。為求完美一再練習，期願呈現給上帝最美好的結果！朋友為我錄影，做為永久紀念。也願一切榮耀歸與神！也讓我們期待有朝一日歸返聖城，這座永恆璀璨的家園！
